Thank you Mayor Vraie Cally Balthazaar for supporting our Comfort Packs Campaign to help children affected by the cyclone. With her support — and that of Chief Librarian Varuni Gangabadarachchi — the Colombo Public Library has kindly undertaken to distribute these Comfort Packs nationally through 100 libraries across Sri Lanka.

Our campaign was selected amongst 100 projects which the Colombo Public Library has opted to support in lieu of its centenary celebration.

What is the Comfort Pack campaign and why is it important?

Thousands of children were affected by the cyclone. Many are still carrying fear, stress and shock.

If we don’t help now, an entire generation of Sri Lankans will grow up operating from trauma.

We created a special trilingual book "Nila and the Stormlight" to help them heal.

This is not charity.

This is preventative mental healthcare.

Every pack counts! A book is priced at just Rs 450 and no profits are earned by Loving Books or any other partner through this initiative.

You can now buy Nila and the Stormlight online or from any Sarasavi Bookshop, create a Comfort Pack (add a soft toy and candy) and handover to the Colombo Public Library for distribution.
